Working Groups
Invitation to Join GNHUSA Working Groups
During its first year of existence, GNHUSA has operated as a small team of enthusiastic, dedicated people, gathering others into the fold through our mailing list, web site and the conference. The response to our mission is extraordinary – the time for this shift is right - Now we need to invite you to join in developing the GNH ideas, education outreach, events, and a national movement.
Working Groups will do actual work in their area and bring their expertise and passion to these groups which will meet virtually (on Skype, for example) on a regular basis and develop curricula or develop programs for educating government on using comprehensive progress measures. Working groups are composed of anyone who is interested in one of these areas and is willing to join in the work, sharing their expertise. For example, we would expect that the Education working group, would have members who are educators, who have interest in GNH ideas and who can contribute to building curricula and teaching/learning materials for GNH from pre-school through graduate school. If you have an interest in joining a working group or finding out more please contact info@gnhusa.org. Check back here for direct contact information for the interim chairpeople as they are setup.
GNHUSA has selected seven areas of activity for the immediate future. We intend to focus staff efforts on supporting working groups in these areas (and more as they emerge). The focus areas are:
•Education (curriculum)
•Vermont as a GNH laboratory
•Events – including future GNHUSA Conferences and Speakers Series
•Gross National Happiness Ambassadors
•Youth Activism for GNH
•Good Governance
•Social Media for GNH
•Living GNH

Internships
GNHUSA is seeking interns for the summer and fall. We may be able to arrange college credits for some positions. Interns will be assigned to work closely with one GNHUSA core member who will help guide their research in areas such as existing sets of comprehensive measures, existing curricula, best practices where these measures have been used so far, building our resource lists for books, videos, blogs and more.
